St JOHN’s is an English restaurant institution opened in 1994 with Fergus Henderson and Trevor Gulliver at the helm (now with multiple venues). Under Fergus’ guidance they specialise in ‘nose to tail eating’ (Fergus’ first book was published in 1999) reclaiming many traditional British recipes and highlighting often neglected cuts of meat. Sticking closely to their rigorous quality and philosophy of simplicity. Their St JOHN Smithfield winning a Michelin star in 2009. Working closely to buy wines direct from growers in France, St JOHN Wines began in 1996. The label showcases wines that are an exemplary expression of the varietal and region.
They are the result of close work with a number of their like-minded producers and, most importantly, they are the wines that St JOHN like to drink.
They work year on year with the various vignerons to create that year’s blends and are of the belief that each of these wines is true to its appellation, showcases the region’s most noteworthy characteristics and offers good value at the same time. They are how St JOHN want them to taste, from the vineyard to the glass.
